    Fantastic podcast for intermediate learners
It is so difficult to find interesting and well made materials for intermediate learners. This podcast is definitely one of the best. The pacing is nice and slow but not frustratingly so. I listen every day and I know it is improving my listening skills.

    Very wonderful podcast
I play it constantly, it’s so much easier to study when the topics are interesting. He clearly puts a lot of work into making the podcast comprehensible to a wide range of listeners.

    Easy listening
At first I didn’t care for this type of podcast due to the nonstandard pronunciation. But the more I listened and read Nathan’s podcasts the more I realized just how much effort he puts into ensuring that the listener can follow along. I have been reminded about so many topics and cultural points as well. Thanks Nathan for your efforts and being one of the few male teachers out there!! I enjoy listening to and reading these podcasts.

    Great program
I’m leaving this review because of the review I saw critiquing Nathan for not “listening” to Uyghur’s outside of Shanghai. Any group of people living abroad and claiming the status of asylum will be exceptionally biased. They must be in order to gain asylum. I think listening to the groups living in Chinese society is perfectly reasonable as it removes the selection bias.

    Great but…
I wish Nathan wouldn’t tell us how great Uyghurs have it based on his friends in Shanghai. Maybe while he was in France he should have taken the opportunity to read the uncensored internet and learn some things. I know most Chinese people don’t eat dogs, but it sounds like his French coworkers know more about Xinjiang than he does. Other than that one disappointing episode, great podcast!

    很好的博客
I was a little nervous of listening to Chinese podcast, afraid that my level was too low. But, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was perfect for me. I’ve taken 2 full years of Chinese in college and am midway through another semester now. The podcast has been great in reintroducing words that had slipped my mind since I first learned them and reintroducing new words. I find the content really interesting so I have no problem staying interested.

    Great Intermediate Podcast
Interesting topics, host speaks slowly and clearly. A great way to practice listening, and learn some interesting things along the way.

    Simple Language, Interesting Topics
This podcast is exactly what it claims to be - a podcast to help listeners learn Mandarin with basic-intermediate vocabulary and structures. (About 5% English to identify less common words; about 95% clear Mandarin.) Varied and interesting topics (from his internship experience in France to the life summary of Queen Elizabeth II) told by Nathan in a slow and clear voice (that you can easily speed up on your phone). Bonus: no commercials or ads interrupting the flow. Great job to the team.

    Superb podcast. 很优秀!
This is a wonderful podcast for intermediate Chinese learners. It is clearly the result of a lot of time and care. The subjects are interesting and varied, ranging from contemporary events to history / culture to simplified versions of Chinese texts (which I particularly enjoy). Each episode is well structured and features simple vocab with a sprinkling of more advanced words. 谢谢 Nathan!!

    Finally!!
So thankful to have finally found a Mandarin language podcast at the level I need. Everything out there is too simple or too difficult. Tea Time Chinese is perfect. Nathan speaking speed is spot on for intermediate learners and his topics are interesting. Really appreciate the work he puts into this and I hope he keeps them coming!

    Perfect for intermediate learners!
I have wanted a podcast like this for a long time! I studied some Chinese in college, but want to improve my skills and learn new vocab, but don’t have much extra time. This podcasts helps you do both! The pronunciation is very clear, and he even teaches you new vocabulary, which helps with learning and understanding the podcast. I’ve only listened to two episodes so far, but can tell this is going to be one of my top Chinese language resources — I hope Nathan keeps putting out new content!!

    This podcast is awesome
A friend recommended this podcast to me. I’ve only listened to two episodes so far and it is AWESOME. A fabulous resource if you are struggling to find listening input in that “intermediate plateau” zone. Extremely grateful to my friend for recommending it, and I immediately passed it on to my other friends who are learning Chinese.

    Excellent resource for intermediate learners
Nathan’s journey really speaks to me, so much that I decided to take italki lessons and become a Patreon supporter. He’s teaching me Chinese using French as a base language and is truly a polyglot full of wisdom about his native language and culture. I’ve been hooked on his podcast since his first full episode and am putting in hours a day learning to read write speak and understand, and this is an incredibly rich and useful resource for me, especially his PDFs with translations and pinyin. Bonne continuation avec tes études, 老师!
